In the international plant engineering business ASME Code Section IX is the most often used standard for the qualification of welding procedures, welders and welding operators as well as brazing procedures and brazers. This workshops exclusively covers the topic of welding and familiarizes the participants with the qualification of welding procedures and welders as required by ASME Code Section IX. By means of practical exercises the basic requirements of ASME Code Section IX will be demonstrated. During the workshop the participants gain the necessary knowledge to independently prepare and/or review Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Welder/Welding Operator/Performance Qualifications (WPQ/WOPQ). The participants are invited to take an active part in this workshop.

  • structure and application of ASME Code Section IX

  • basic requirements regarding the qualification of welding procedures and welders

With more than 30 years of professional experience Salih is a well-known ASME Authorized Inspector and Authorized Inspector Supervisor. During his ASME related business he has successfully guided numerous companies through the ASME certification process. He has additionally worked in many different roles such as ISO 9001 Auditor, PED Auditor, NDT Level III (EN ISO 9712/DAKSS, ASNT), TÜRKAK Technical Expert as well as Health and Safety Expert Level A. Having been the Lead Auditor in more than 700 audits in companies acting worldwide, he has accumulated a vast variety of insights into the plant engineering industry. Since 2012 Salih has been a shareholder in the NDE and inspection service provider Code Teknik Kontrol ve Belgelendirme in Turkey. In his seminars and workshops Salih shares his proficiency and experience with his students who are encouraged to actively participate by raising their project related issues and questions.

Volkan is a very experienced ASME Authorized Inspector as well as Authorized Nuclear Inspector. Having started in the manufacturing industry, he moved on to become a Quality Control/Assurance manager before continuing his career with several well-known inspection agencies. Volkan is not only qualified as an Aramco Inspector and Türkak Technical Expert, but additionally also as an NDE Level III, welding inspector and lead auditor. His varied technical background and practical knowledge have made him a highly competent consultant for the efficient application of international codes and standards. His wealth of experience is not only beneficial for his clients in the ASME qualification and inspection business, but also for the attendees of the public and inhouse seminars Volkan conducts.
