Nondestructive Examination
Nondestructive Examination (NDE) is indispensable in the quality assurance during the construction of pressure retaining parts in the shop and at field sites. In this context the correct application of the NDE procedures used is just as important as the proper evaluation of the test results according to the specified code. Our NDE team of experienced ASME Authorized Inspectors, qualified according to SNT-TC-1A as Level II and/or Level III individuals as well as in line with DIN EN 473 and DIN EN ISO 9712 are available to support you with the implementation of the following procedures:
-
Radiographic Examination (RT)
-
Ultrasonic Examination (UT)
-
Magnetic Particle Examination (MT)
-
Liquid Penetrant Examination (PT)
-
Visual Examination (VT)
-
Leak Testing (LT) with Helium
-
Eddy Current Examination (ET)
NDE-Procedures according to the ASME Code
As authorized ASME inspectors and qualified NDE Level II and Level III individuals we support you with the preparation and review of ASME Code compliant NDE procedures. Depending on your requirements, specific consideration is given to the particular requirements of ASME Code Sections I, VIII-1, VIII-2, IX, III (NB, NC, ND, NE, NF, NG, NH), ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3.
NDE-Personnel Qualification
Qualified NDE personnel performing examinations on welds or material of pressure equipment have to be very knowledgeable regarding the NDE methods applied. The ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code specifies comprehensive requirements in this respect. Employers have to ensure the required level of qualification by using their own Written Practice, i.e. a company specific training and qualification program which has to comply with the applicable ASME Construction Code.
Our NDE Team is available to support you with preparing your company's Written Practice or reviewing it for compliance with the ASME Code requirements:

-
Certificate of Competence specified in the Written Practice for ASME Code Section I, Section VIII Division 1 and ASME B31.1 for the NDE methods MT, PT and VT
Our scope of assistance will be based on the skills and qualifications your employees already have. Against this background we support you in preparing a complete set of documentation meeting the ASME Code NDE requirements. This covers the NDE personnel qualification program (Written Practice) and preparing company specific examination questions for Level II and Level III individuals, tailor-made to your NDE equipment and NDE methods RT, UT, MT, PT, VT, LT and ET. This ASME complying documentation is ready to be used with customers and authorities as well as for the purpose of an ASME Joint Review or ASME Nuclear Survey.
NDE Workshops and Seminars
All our instructors have been
working in the ASME Code
inspection business for years
and successfully supported a
wide range of well-known
companies in passing ASME
Joint Reviews and Nuclear
Surveys. Our
ASME Code workshops and seminars, especially adapted to your needs, enable your staff to gain quick access to the specifics of the different ASME Code Sections, the NDE methods to be applied and the corresponding ASME Code acceptance criteria.
