Description:

Pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II. In cooperation with Hexagon PPM, the provider of CAESAR II, we offer this training. During this training you will get ‘hands-on’ with CAESAR II, the world's most widely used pipe flexibility and stress analysis software. This is introductory-level product training aimed at persons who are new to CAESAR II. The course is for pipe stress engineers/analysts who carry out Static stress analysis on piping systems. The class includes a basic introduction to the software (interface, simple data input, editing etc. and then goes on to develop further skills by using CAESAR II software to resolve typical everyday piping problems. It also covers design code stresses, output interpretation and creating reports amongst many other subjects. During the training, you will use CAESAR II to develop, and analyse, multiple piping systems. The topics covered include placing supports, loop optimisation, nozzle and flanges checks, generating appropriate load cases, and API610 analysis, as well as using FEA Tools to dramatically increase the accuracy of your pipe stress analysis. This training is the perfect opportunity for those who would like to become familiar and get a thorough introduction to the software.

The seminar language is English.

Pre-requsite:

  • Trainees should have an appreciation for Mechanical Engineering theory and principles. Qualifications would typically be a Degree or higher-level diploma or similar in Mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering or relevant experience..

  • Training is delivered remotely, online, via MS TEAMS.

  • Training starts @ 09.00am CET and finishes @ 17.00pm CET each day, with 1hr for lunch, and two 15min breaks, one during the a.m. and one during the p.m.

  • Trainees need to use a computer with the following hardware and software spec.

  • The latest CAESAR II software and a temporary licence (‘training.cci’) will be provided to all registered trainees. As there isn’t time during the training to do this, to enable trainees to install the software before the training starts, the materials will be supplied the week prior to the training. Full instructions will be provided on how to do this and help will be provided if required.

  • To allow time for printing, electronic copies of training materials will also be supplied the week prior to the training. Note. Training materials should not be copied, divulged or redistributed, under any circumstances.

  • On the last day, trainees are expected to complete and return Hexagon PPM’s training feedback form.

  • Trainees will receive a certificate from Hexagon PPM. Please note that full attendance on the course is required to receive a certificate.

Seminar Instructor:

Dipl.- Ing. Nevresa Frohnert | Phone: +49 201 74 72 75-10 | E-Mail: nfrohnert@cis-inspector.com

Nevresa Frohnert Nevresa Frohnert is an experienced ASME Authorized Inspector Supervisor. She has detailed know-how regarding the design of pressure retaining items according to ASME Code Section I, IV and VIII-1 as well to American piping codes. In addition to that she is an expert for various European and international Standards and their application under PED. As a mechanical engineer with an additional degree in computer science she is ideally qualified to combine both disciplines and to work as an instructor for Code issues as well as for software applications. Her main field of activities is reviewing design documents including calculations, welding documentation, NDE requirements and other records for compliance with the applicable construction code. She is a specialist in the most commonly used pressure vessel and piping software in the plant engineering industry such as PV Elite, Compress, DIMy, VVD, NozzlePro, etc. The participants in her courses thus directly benefit from her practical and theoretical background.

Chris Parkin | E-Mail: chris.parkin@hexagon.com

Chris Parkin Chris Parkin is a Principal Application Engineer working for Hexagon in the UK. Chris is responsible for providing consultancy, technical support, customization and training services for CAESAR II, PV Elite and the entire CADWorx product suite. Chris has over 12 years of experience teaching designers and engineers in how to use Hexagon software in the most efficient and productive way. Chris has also been involved in multiple pipe stress analysis projects, primarily in the bio-pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries.
